The Holy Spirit processes you to be clothed, covered and crowned for citizenship in the kingdom of God. He processes you for purification. Purification or consecration is giving up self, taking up your cross so that you desire a changed disposition. Prayer helps facilitate a renewed disposition that is dependent and reliant on God. The renewed man has a faithful and obedient nature toward God. A renewed nature will outwardly manifest the inner workings of the Holy Spirit.
